Meet the founder

Hi, I'm Kiella.
Nice to finally meet you.

I'm a wedding photographer based in North Dakota who spent years wishing there was a better way to build a portfolio that attracts the clients you actually want.

When The Shootout Society came across my path, I knew exactly what it needed to be — smaller, more intentional, and genuinely worthy of the photographers who show up for it.

I also run Kiella Lawrence Photography, so I understand firsthand what it means to need portfolio work that does real business for you.

The story

A new era for
The Shootout Society.

The Shootout Society has existed for years — but not always in the way photographers deserved. Overcrowded events, underdelivered promises, a community that felt more like a transaction than a creative space.

When I acquired and relaunched TSS, one thing was non-negotiable: every decision would be filtered through trust. Small groups. Honest copy. Real curation. A community photographers can count on.

What we stand for

The TSS difference,
in plain terms.

We cap every shoot at 8–10 photographers, broken into intimate groups of 4–5. Not because we have to — because more than that and the experience stops being what it's supposed to be.

Every venue, vendor, and theme is chosen with a specific portfolio outcome in mind. Nothing is filler. Nothing is here to look good in the pitch.

Photographers who come to TSS shoots stay in the community. The connections made at these events are as valuable as the images.

Small on purpose

Genuinely curated

Community first

The team

It's not just me.
It takes a whole crew.

Beyond our core team, we partner with local wedding planners, florists, designers, and vendors in every city we visit. Every shoot is built with people who know their market — so the details are always right.

We're always looking for planners, florists, designers, and creative vendors in our upcoming shoot cities. If you love the TSS aesthetic and want to be part of the experience, we'd love to hear from you.
